Weekend Fishing Forecast:

Weather forecast sunny all weekend with
warmer temperatures. The rivers have
been dropping all week and are in
excellent shape. Kalum River is in good
shape a little high from all the rain
but Steelhead fishing is still good. The
rising water may have brought up more
Steelhead to the top end. Skeena River
is dropping fishing fair for Steelhead
and Trout. Zymoetz (Copper) River in
good shape and I have a report of some
excellent Steelheading in the lower end,
that is still open to fishing. Lakelse
River has been high and fishing has been
slow but now that the water is dropping
things may pick up. Theory: when the
water is high most of the fish move into
the lake. Caution: please be careful
walking the edge of these rivers as ice

Weekend Fishing Forecast:

Weather forecast mostly sunny with a few clouds. All rivers in good shape. Kalum: is a little coloured for this time of year and still a bit higher than normal, but dropping daily. Steelhead fishing is fantastic. One can fish for Steelhead all winter here. Please don't harass the spawning Coho. Reg: Coho closed Oct 31st. Tip: Gibbs #45 Lure works pretty good to catch Steelhead. Water is dropping so be careful if you take your jet boat. Might be time for the raft or drift-boat. Lakelse River: The fishing at Herman's is slow because the water is low. The upper river is full of spawning Coho. Anglers now are fishing for Steelhead, resident Cutthroat and Dolly's. When the water is high, the fishing is best. Tip: Fly-fishing egg pattern flies work the best, also, the brighter the egg fly the better. Tip: Float fishing corkies (painted cork balls in various sizes) and a little bit of white wool works well. The bright red or orange ones are favored. Zymoetz (Copper) River: Water low and clean with a nice glacial tinge. The last high water should have brought in more summer-run Steelhead. This is the river for the fly-rod. The water is clean and the Steelhead have a chance to react when a fly comes drifting by. Dry fly works pretty good too. Tip: Float fishing the Pink Worm works very well in this river. This is the time of year...before it gets too cold. Need a guide for this just contact me anytime...we still have a few rod-days available. Kitimat River: Lots of people fishing for Trout now. Smithers BC area Rivers: Sorry, I don't have any reports but I think conditions would still be good to fish for Steelhead. Lake fishing: is good everywhere. Ocean fishing: for Salmon and Bottom Fish out of Kitimat and Prince Rupert is good; so is Crabbing and Prawning. If you are new to the area and don't know how or where to fish why don't you consider hiring a fishing guide? Contact me for that. Good luck this weekend. Good luck this weekend.

Weekend Fishing Forecast:

Weather forecast mixed with light rain, sun and cooler temperatures. All rivers in good shape but very low. Coho are now higher up the Skeena tributary rivers such as the Gitnadoix, Kasiks and Exchamsiks; water so low it is difficult to get up them with jet boat. Lakelse River Bridge Coho fishing is slow, once again most fish are up river; lots of Coho reported. Lake fishing is good everywhere. Ocean fishing out of Kitimat and Prince Rupert is excellent; so is Crabbing and Prawning. If you are new to the area and don't know how or where to fish why don't you consider hiring a fishing guide? Weekend Fishing Forecast:

Weather forecast mixed with light rain and sun. Skeena River is in good shape and catches of Steelhead and Coho are reported to be fair. Most of the runs have already gone through. Actually, all rivers are in fishable shape. Coho are now coming into the lower Skeena tributary rivers such as the Gitnadoix, Kasiks and Exchamsiks. Look for rolling fish. With the low water the fish are having a tough time making it up river. Lakelse River Bridge Coho fishing is slow. Marabou jigs work well so does Gibbs/Delta lures and spinners. Try casting these spoons are the river mouth, I have reports of good catches there. Lake fishing is good everywhere. Ocean fishing out of Kitimat and Prince Rupert is excellent; so is Crabbing and Prawning. If you are new to the area and don't know how or where to fish why don't you consider hiring a fishing guide? Weekend Fishing Forecast:
Weekend weather forecasts cooler temperatures and some rain. Skeena River is in fair shape and catches of Steelhead, Coho and Pink are reported. Tyee Test Fishery shows a good run. Kitimat River Chum and Pink Salmon are doing well. Huge run of Pink this year. Coho slow due to extreme low water. Maybe the rain on the weekend and a bump in the water height will bring in the run? Lake fishing is good everywhere. Ocean fishing out of Kitimat and Prince Rupert is excellent; so is Crabbing and Prawning. Good luck this weekend.
